Meet Our Team
Bedont Orthodontics Team: What Makes Them Special?
At Bedont Orthodontics, we are very interested in making all our patients feel right at home! We put your needs first to achieve efficient and comprehensive treatment. Our staff is trained and skilled, and we strive to provide energetic and fun-loving service to each patient. Each member of our treatment team is an expanded function orthodontic dental assistant (EFODA) and is certified in radiation health and safety, and our office staff has years of experience in treating patients with the highest level of care.
The best part of my job is making people smile. When I joined the office in 1997 as a high school senior I only got to see a glimpse of what was so great about what we do. After finishing school I rejoined the team as a clinical assistant in 2002 and have since enjoyed seeing the magic of making smiles every day. I work hard with patients on education, cooperation and good oral hygiene, and help all patients understand the importance of everything we do, every step of the way. It is important to me that my patients love coming to see me. I want to be the best part of their day!
When I am not building lasting friendships with my orthodontic family I love to be at home with my husband and two teenagers, Braedon and BreeAnn. I love piling on the couch to watch movies and eat junk food when I can't play outside, and camping and 4-wheeling when I can.
I began my career in the orthodontic field in 2000 and after several years of assisting I took some time off when I started my family. In 2014 I went back to work at Bedont Orthodontics as a clinical assistant. In 2016 I transitioned to working as the Treatment Coordinator helping patients get started in orthodontic treatment. While I love everything about my job, I have to say that meeting new patients and their families has to be the highlight. It’s so much fun to be part of their orthodontic journey and seeing the transformation in each person’s smile as they move through treatment. Not only do their smiles look better, but they smile more often and with greater confidence.
When I’m away from Bedont Orthodontics I keep very busy helping run our family HVAC company with my husband and playing an active role in our three children's school and extracurricular activities.
Before joining Bedont Orthodontics in 2017, I came from a medical background with over 19 years in patient care billing and coordinating. I really love what I do! I enjoy helping patients maximize their health benefits, providing coordination of insurance billing, and arranging flexible payment plans. This relieves our patients of any financial worries, allowing them to focus on great treatment and beautiful smiles.
I have always lived in this area and I live in a 100-year-old home (built in 1919) on two acres with my husband and kids. We love to work on our house and in the yard and garden.
My role as a scheduling coordinator brings a lot of joy to me because I know that every day I get to make a difference in our patient’s lives. I do that by helping them feel better about their smile. I know that a simple task of scheduling a consultation will help get them where they want to be with their smile. I worked as a bank teller for about four years before I decided to go into the orthodontic field. Although this wasn’t my career choice from the beginning, I’m happy to know that in this job you make a difference in people’s lives.
I’ve been happily married since 2017. I enjoy my time off with my family creating new memories.
Having years of experience in the medical field, the dental field is a new adventure for me. After my first day at Bedont Orthodontics, I was hooked. Nothing beats seeing that beaming smile coming from someone who just got their braces off. They are truly so happy and excited that I cannot contain my own excitement for them! I enjoy every bit of interacting with our patients and their families as well as strive to make them feel right at home when they come into our office.
When I am not at work you can catch me around town with my husband and our three little kiddos playing at the park, going for a bike ride, swimming at the nearest river, attending church and activities, or enjoying the best new family movie. We absolutely love our family time together. My own hobbies include reading a good book, crafting my heart out, blogging, or working on our next home remodel project.
Right out of high school I got my start in the dental field as a treatment/financial coordinator in a dental office. In less than a year I realized my true desire was actually treating patients in the clinic. I followed that desire and have never looked back. I love my career as an orthodontic assistant! It is very satisfying, even exciting, to be a part of changing one of our patient’s lives by straightening their smile. There’s nothing better than seeing that great big brace-free grin the day the braces come off!
I grew up in Portland and met and married my husband, Mike, in 1990. Mike and I like to spend lots of time with family. We enjoy the outdoors, sports, cooking, taking long drives and serving in our church and community.
It is your last appointment and it is time to finish your orthodontic treatment. I remove the braces, get all the teeth polished, and hand you the mirror. You take a look and see your beautiful new smile for the first time and are so excited and happy that a small tear rolls down your cheek. This is why I fell I love with orthodontics. Being able to be part of someone’s journey from the beginning to the end is the best part of my day. I never thought that working in the mouth was something I would like, but man was I wrong. I know I have found my true calling. It is not just the end result of braces either, but creating new relationships, helping people through rough times, and trying to be the best part of their day is what it is really about. I have been working in the orthodontic field since 2016 and might be kind of known for as the “loud one.” I am a very energetic and excited person when it comes to braces! I have a deep passion for orthodontics and that is why I have put forward the plan of becoming an orthodontist.
When I am not putting my gloves on and making your teeth sore I will probably be outside every possible moment. You will be able to find me out riding dirt bikes, working on my truck, or on the lake with friends.
I started dental assisting school my junior year of high school. My second year of the program I was given the opportunity to have an internship at Bedont Orthodontics. This is where I decided orthodontics was my passion! I love getting to help people achieve their beautiful smiles! When I am not Helping people achieve their smiles I love being outside and spending quality time with friends and family!
I have been a dental assistant since 2001. I received an academic scholarship when I graduated high school in which lead me to attending Linn Benton Community College in Albany, Oregon. There I graduated from the Dental Assisting program.
After being a dental assistant in general dentistry I decided to switch gears and go into Orthodontic assisting. I really enjoy getting to know my patients while helping them achieve their goals. As an orthodontic assistant I love to make people feel confident while creating a beautiful smile!
When I am not working I love spending time with my family, camping, playing & attending sporting events, hiking, gardening along with home improvement projects.
I am very excited to continue my dental career in orthodontics and to be a part of the Bedont Orthodontics team!
