Portland Pediatric Braces
Braces are used to correct the alignment of your child's teeth by using steady pressure throughout the mouth, which will properly align them into fixed position. Most children often need just braces with brackets, wires and rubber bands. The wire is gradually tightened over each appointment scheduled to properly align your child's teeth properly. Rubber bands also come in fun different colors your child can pick. In addition to standard metal braces, you may also look at lingual braces (which are applied behind the teeth instead of in front), and clear removable braces known as ‘aligners’ as alternatives to rubber bands and wires. Aligners are only right for some people, though. Some children may require additional appliances, such as headgear. Headgear is most often only worn at night, and provides a stronger pressure to aid in moving your child's teeth into a proper position. Once treatment has started, your child will need to visit Bedont Orthodontics every 2-3 weeks for regular check-ups and adjustments.
